Brighton i-360

The Brighton i-360, actually a 183m tall observation spire, is one of the more unusual DP9 projects of recent times. Designed by London Eye architect Marks Barfield, it is intended to become a new cultural hub on the Brighton seafront, some compensation, perhaps, for the tragic loss of the historic West Pier, the site of which it adjoins.

DP9 projects of recent times. Designed by London Eye architect Marks Barfield, it is intended to become a new cultural hub on the Brighton seafront, some compensation, perhaps, for the tragic loss of the historic West Pier, the site of which it adjoins. A revolving viewing pod will provide spectacular views, with a heritage centre at the base of the tower. DP9 was actively involved in the project from its conception. Ultimately there were, in fact, few objections to the planning application and English Heritage was supportive.
