New Street Square

The sheer scale of the New Street Square development is surprising: it seems unlikely that a project this large could be slotted into the western edge of the City, in the quarter of London promoted as 'mid-town'. The site, off Fetter Lane, was occupied by very undistinguished 1960s buildings.

The new, four-building campus scheme has transformed the area and created a new address that has attracted record rents. It incorporates a new public square, retail and public art and was developed in collaboration with surrounding residents. DP9 managed the process to deliver consent for an ambitious proposal for this part of the City in the face of concentrated local opposition.
